Why was CACI developed?
The microcurrent technology was originally developed in the medical field by Dr Thomas Wing to treat patients with Bell’s palsy or those who had suffered a stroke.
It can also be used in the sport field to rehabilitate injured muscle tissue or in burns units to heal and repair the skin tissue.
What does it do to the muscles?
CACI microcurrent works on the Golgi Tendon Organ (GTO) which is the brain of the muscle and keeps it toned and healthy. It also determines the muscle’s length.
The microcurrent stimulates the GTO in each muscle so as to re-educate the muscle tissue. The positioning and movements of the probes we use during the facial determine a lengthening or shortening action; lengthening releases tension which targets lines and wrinkles and shortening lifts the muscle, which targets muscles that have dropped.
How does it work?
Microcurrent works in harmony with the body’s own bio-electrical field , and the impulses from the microcurrent are similar to those of the body, making it virtually sub-sensory.
The face has over 30 muscles that are directly below, and connected to, the skin’s surface. All of these are stimulated with a deeply penetrating current during a CACI facial.

How does it feel?
You may feel a slight tingling and metallic taste in your mouth. You may also see a white flashing light behind the eyelids and feel a mild twitching in some muscles, especially at higher levels of current.
What happens during a course?
There are 3 settings we work with throughout your course. The level of current (uA) increases over the course which gives a long term lift to the muscles, and the frequency (Hz) decreases so as to penetrate the skin deeper, as the lower the frequency, the deeper the penetration. CACI is the only company that uses a frequency lower than 1 which means you are getting the deepest penetration possible; to the subcutaneous layer of the skin.
Treatment 1 - 3: 160 uA & 0.9 Hz (penetrates to the epidermis & wakes up the muscle)
Treatment 4 - 7: 320 uA & 0.7 Hz (penetrates to the dermis & we start to see the lift)
Treatment 8 + : 640 uA & 0.3 Hz (penetrates to the subcutaneous layer & creates the long term lift)
What does the light therapy do?
With the new CACI Synergy system, we can now offer light therapy with the microcurrent treatment.
S.P.E.D. Dual Action Technology (which stands for Simultaneous Photo Electrical Delivery) represents a significant breakthrough in Microcurrent therapy; allowing us to deliver the power of LED therapy at the same time as using Microcurrent.
It is clinically proven to deliver faster and more effective results than just Microcurrent.
Red light stimulates collagen production, cell renewal, blood circulation & wound healing.
Blue light soothes & calms, kills bacteria and is antiseptic & anti-irritant.
Alternating both the red and blue therapy helps treat acne, and is proven to get faster results than blue light therapy alone.
The flashing LED light means the light therapy is driven deeper into the tissue to heal the skin and stimulate collagen production. When the light is constant, it works on superficial skin tissue.
